The Recycling Movement is on Trend.

Nowadays recycling takes an important role in our society. The idea of saving the planet is one of the main reasons why the “green movement” has gained so much popularity these last years.
This movement has grown so fast that it has taken over many schools. Our school, Colegio Británico Internacional, is one of them. We have an intensive recycling program in which students interact with the environment and with each other in a fun and responsible way.
The person in charge of this amazing activity is Mary Alms. Here we have her personal opinion about the program:
What is the importance of recycling nowadays?
Mary:
“It is important because of the amount of garbage that we create. Think about in one day how many paper you use and waste. Just think about it. How much recycling stuff we can either use again or we can sell and then other people can make new products made out of that. Here at the school lots of people drink a lot of water or teas, and if we threw away (the bottles) we are creating more garbage. When we recycle we are thinking about our future”
How do you motivate your students to get involved in the “green movement”?
Mary:
“I think that this year is going to be much easier to try to get you guys into a group. The kids from CAS will spread the word, making campaigns to teach students and professors about the importance of recycling and how they can help. Small steps can help save the world. We all have to work together in order to make this a green environment here at school”.
This year the group from CAS will interact with the students from different grades to make them aware about the recycling world. The students will show their compromise with the recycling program in and out of school. CAS wants the youngest part of the student body to follow in their footsteps, and take their advice into consideration about the way we can take care of our environment.
